Invite, Welcome, Connect began meeting here at Saint Barnabas in spring of 2023. It has been used in the Episcopal Church since about 2016, created by Mary Foster Parmer and endorsed by our Presiding Bishop, Michael Curry. We have room for all of our parishioners to join with us.
There are three parts to the ministry:
INVITE, where you all invite friends, neighbors or even total strangers to come to worship here, or come to an event or special service. Sharing the Good News, practicing evangelism, like we promise to do in our baptism and in our covenant.
WELCOME is something you all do, when you greet someone new or you show them where we are in the bulletin or you pass the peace to them or smile at them.
CONNECT comes into play as we share what our ministries are and help them discern their own gifts so we can be Christ’s feet and hands in the world. We help them to find relationships and do God’s work.
Join us because we are wired to be in relationship and to feel we belong. And this isn’t just for newcomers. Some of you may want to be connected to a new ministry or change from an older one to explore a different gift. We are all enriched by connecting with others to know another child of God and to learn each other’s story. There are many ways to help this ministry.
Invite.Welcome.Connect meets on the first Monday of the month at 4:00 pm in the Great Hall.
A verse from Revelation says, “let everyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who wishes take the water of life as a gift.”
